Menthol is the stuff that gives mint a minty taste. Menthol cigarettes were invented by a teenager who was trying to hide his cigarettes from his mom, put them in a tin with menthol crystals in them, and noticed when he smoked them that they had picked up the menthol taste. I don't think they taste better, but some people do. They give you a cool feeling like mint because the menthol triggers the nerve cells that respond to cold (spicy foods by way of contrast give you a hot sensation because they trigger the nerve cells that respond to heat). It's kind of hard to describe, as someone said you have to try them to know what it's like.

Menthols have a minty flavor and a harsher chemical burn feeling. I prefer normal cigs over menthols. The best way to know is to smoke one of each.

They have mentholatum in them and they are more addicting because of the taste and the rush they give you. They taste very good and it kind of feels like the cough medicine that numbs your throat. They a pretty much worse for you because you are smoking that mentholatum.

What exactly is different about menthol cigarettes compared to regular cigarettes?
supposedly they taste better? And are worse for you? Can you please tell me what is true about the differences? Thanks.

I don’t smoke cigarettes, just curious
