Does smoking a cigarette triggers smoke alarm?

I live in a room with a smoke allarm, and i wanted to know if by smoking a cigarette there i will trigger the smoke alarm. Thank you

edit: can i do something apart from taking away the battery to avoid it goes off?

Yes, true in rooms & commercial aircraft. (including toilet)

    Yes & no… in your home one would never go off… I think in a shopping mall one wouldn’t go off also… but in an Aeroplane it would I think becuase it’s so close so it is more direct & they are problery stronger ones… but I don’t know anyone whos smoked on an aeroplane since it has been ilagile …
