I mean come ON!! Is there such thing as a pot overdose, well there is for alcohol. And don’t even try to tell me that pot is as addicting as cigarettes. Pot seems like the lesser of the three evils.
Yeah i totally agree. Alcohol is more harmful than cannabis but it is still ‘socially acceptable’. Cannabis is legal in Amsterdam and they dont have any problems with it there. You can buy it in shops and everything! lol. At the end of the day it is about how much money the government can make on taxing it and they supposedly cant do that. Alcohol is actually just as harmful if not more harmful as ecstacy but no one bats and eyelid and all the police go and get drunk on their nights off but still take weed off stoners.
I agree, after all, cigarettes and alcohol are man made, and pot is not.

B/c the government can’t tax it. If they can’t make money off of it they ban it. Have you noticed how much cigs and alcohol are taxed. Its ridiculous.

Alcohol and Cigarettes are easily taxed as they have official places that they are sold.
Pot is not easily taxed as the suppliers are difficult to find.
I think you will find that alcohol is not man made, its ethanol and cigarettes are made from tobacco which is a plant.

Alcohol and cigarettes are huge industries in America and if you took them out, an entire group of people would lose their jobs. And because they’re both so big, the government can tax it, so they’re legal for two reasons. 1) It has now been considered normal for both things to exist. 2) The government can make money on it.

I agree, to an extent. While Ciggerates are the worst for your health, they do not impair your judgment the way drugs and alchcol do, so your not at risk to kill another person.
Pot and alcohol ae probally equally dangerous, but society considers alcohol acceptable, its legal because of our coultures and tradition.
Alcohol was illegal at one time, but that did not go over well at all, and the goverment gave in and relegalized it.

Who came up with that numb-nutted idea! Stupid is as stupid does. Our country spends WAY too much $$$$ on people in jail or prison for something that more of the people in this country SHOULD be on. well depends where you live, like in CA the government said not to pot but people still does it, cigarettes and alcohol are man made, companies pay money so they can be sold to the public, pot is natural and the companies doesn’t pay money to sell pot, there are no companies that sells pot to the public, and I know the point about why is alcohol and cigarettes legal but why pot is not…

You got me. Never been able to figure that out. Alcohol, drink to much, and you have no control. Cigarettes kill you slowly. Even terminally ill people have a problem getting it even though it would ease their pain yet allow them to be awake instead of knocked out by other drugs.

It would be nearly impossible to tax pot. It grow everywhere and a few plants can provide for most peoples needs. Tobacco and alcohol are too labor intensive for home production to hurt tax revenues. with the exception of hard liquor, that’s why home distillation is banned in all but three countries.

what it boils down to is taxes, as a few have already stated. it’s too easy to produce for the govt to keep tabs on everyone. besides, i’m pretty sure they make more money fining stoners than they would in tax revenue.
