How do I tighten the cigarette lighter socket in my car?

I plug my radar detector and GPS into my cigarette lighter socket in my 98 Toyota Avalon, but they occasionally don’t get a steady power connection, so I am guessing the socket is loose. How do I tighten up the socket so it’ll feed a steady power supply?

On some cars, the male retainer behind the dash or console has to be held while the outside female receptacle socket is turned clockwise to tighten.

you would have to go get a new recepticle, which is the thing that you plug the detector into, the new one is going to be tighter
