If people choose a vegan lifestyle, why do some still smoke? When it’s a fact that the cigarette companies test on animals.
I have never met a vegan who smokes cigarettes. Most vegans are very health conscious, and wouldn’t pump poison into themselves. Yes it is a fact that cigarette companies conduct horrible, painful experiments on animals. So for a vegan to smoke, would be very hypocritical.

Vegan who doesnt smoke cigarettes
I am a non-smoker.
There used to be a company that didn’t test–Natural American Spirit– but they were bought out by a bigger company that does. Animal experiments by cigarette companies have been some of the worst, including experiments on primates. So commercially produced cigarettes are not vegan. I do not know any vegan brands.

Don’t smoke nor drink alcohol (though I do on occasion cook with it) nor do any drugs. Some vegans are not really vegans but just sort of animal free but like chemicals and weird stuff made in labs or factories, that is not natural. Cigarettes are pure garbage and have nothing going for them, fine if you are smoking tobacco for ceremonial purposes or something like that but people who smoke every day are just ruining their bodies and bodies of other people.

I am not a vegan but I know of an electronic smoking device that does not contain any chemicals. The nicotine is derived from peppers, eggplant and potatoes. The electronic cigarettes work with vaporizers that deliver nicotine but not from tobacco. They look, taste and feel just like a regular cigarette but they do not contain any cancer causing chemicals. There is no second-hand smoke, no odor, no tar, and no carbon monoxide and they are free of the 4,000 chemicals that are in regular tobacco cigarettes. The nicotine is drawn from vegetables (a green cigarette!), not tobacco and it tastes just like tobacco nicotine. You can view the video that I have uploaded to YouTube to learn about this incredible technology. This is the answer to those who cannot quit smoking — they can continue to smoke without disturbing anyone and without endangering their own health. It is also the answer to the ever-increasing costs of smoking traditional tobacco cigarettes. These devices do not contain the cancer causing chemicals that regular tobacco cigarettes contain. Go to the source I have listed for a video explaining how these things work. I will never go back to traditional tobacco cigarettes every again.

OK. I am a vegan and anti smoking- but my boyfriend is also vegan and smokes occasionally.
Not all vegans are vegans because they are trying to be healthy- huge misconception- being vegan is about the ethical treatment of animals.
Unfortunately in todays world its almost impossible to live a completely ‘vegan’ lifestyle. SO many products are tested on animals these days- stuff you don’t even think about, like washing detergent!
Being a vegan smoker isnt hypocritical at all.
Number 1. Vegan cigarettes. They exist. If you cant access that then you can always make your own.
Number 2. People are saying vegans shouldnt smoke because of all the pesticides etc that are used whilst growing. Question for all of you vegans out there? Are you rich and only buy organic products? Didnt think so- think about all the vegetables in the shop you buy that were grown using chemicals and fertilizers.
Number 3. I have heard people try and use the reasoning ‘vegans that smoke give animals second hand smoke’. No vegan I know would smoke in close proximity to an animal- people that do are douches. And if people go that far, why not go as far as ‘vegans are hypocrites because they buy tofu in plastic wrappers, then throw the plastic wrappers away- and that contributes to landfill, and deforestation , blah blah blah blah.’
Being vegan isnt about restricting yourself from everything- its about doing the best you can with the knowledge that you have. I hate it when some one says ‘oh- you cant eat that’ or ‘you cant wear that’. Yes, i can- but I choose not to.
