I’m looking for a unique looking electronic cigarette lighter for my boyfriend for Christmas. Anyone know where to find them?
Believe it or not, theres a bunch of very cool electronic cigarette lighters on sites like Amazon. Also, if you search Zippo, they have a great line of them and they last forever!
My cigarette lighter has stopped workin in my 206 i am looking to know were the fuse box is, What fuse it is and what type of fuse i need to replace it. Any ideas anyone?
I dont smoke but nowadays you have sat navs mobiles etc that have leads to charge them using the cigarette lighter input!
I never got the handbook with the car?
It’s fuse no.23 rated 20amp. the fuse box should be under the dash area and the fuse is bang in the centre and offset against the others.
What could make a cigarette lighter explode? Adam and Jamie find out.

For example, take a small 100w power inverter that can charge/operate a laptop using the laptop’s normal power cable. How efficient is this, when compared to an actual car charger that’s intended for use in the cigarette lighter?
Thanks!
i NO LONGER HAVE A LIGHTER, IT FUSED OR SOMETHING WHEN i USED IT TO BOIL WATER FOR A CUP OF COFFEE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE nULLARBOR! Oops, sorry about the caps!
I drive a 1999 Mazda Mellinia and the cigarette lighter doesn’t work at all i’m assuming I need a fuse but I’m not sure exactly which one I need.
check your owners manual under fuses alot of times it’s the coil(the part of the lighter you pull out of the dash)that burns out you can get that at pretty much any parts store for a couple bucks
I drive a 1994 Acura Integra LS and my cigarette lighter doesn’t work. Apparently the person who installed my cd player cut the wiring to the cigarette lighter and now there is nothing to connect it to. Where should I hard wire it to and how do I go about doing this? Thank you in advance for all your thoughts and suggestions.
Run a heavy wire, 12 gauge or less (the lighter uses a lot of current), to an unfused line that goes to a heavy draw accessory such as the headlights (on the battery side of the switch, of course). The circuit you connect it to should be on all the time and not be controlled by a switch. BE SURE TO DISCONNECT THE + SIDE OF THE BATTERY BEFORE FOOLING WITH THE WIRING!
Good luck.
What causes the clock and cigarette lighter not to work on a 1998 Toyota Camry when the fuses have been checked and they are working?
Fuse is usually the same for both these accessories on many cars. Check that first. If the cigarette lighter shorts out or the push in part is bad it can cause this fuse to blow and keep both from working. I see that I neglected to notice you had already check the fuses. That is odd as normally the fuse will blow on that when they both go out. If you are positive that the fuses are good simply trace the wire from the back of the fuse box until you find where it loses power. Most likely near the cig lighter I would bet.
and if drive an older model vehicle can the cigarette lighter destroy the ipod with too much voltage or surges?
please explain
btw, the cigarette lighter recharger says on package that it prevents "Surging"..so how this would do that?..lol
please xplain
btw, which area of the world are you?
thanks for your answers!
the recharger works pretty well on my IPhone when I use GPS.
there’s a resistor? that sets and defines the amount of load and current in the car charger.
as long as you have not modded the charger or the IPod, it should be covered under the warranty.
mod = jailbreaking the IPod, or macguyvering the power adapter voids the warranty
I can’t figure out how to get to the cigarette lighter and how to take it out…any ideas?
Grasp the knob and pull it out………
Okay, I don’t want to go through a bunch of extra wiring steps to get my cb radio wired into the cars supplied dc power. So can I buy some sort of adapter that lets me plug it into a cigarette lighter outlet?
you cant
