These sponsors would use real cute and catchy phrases or jingles to grab the watchers attention and help the phrase or logo of their brands stick in the minds of the viewers. This was a popular kind of advertising gimmick in those days and sold many, many cigarettes for these companies. Some of these jingles or logos people still remember today.
The Federal Communications Commission around the year 1967 announced that discussion of heath or smoking related ads were not sufficient enough as advertisements that were paid. The Federal Communications Commission, eventually, made TV stations put advertisements for anti smoking with no cost from the organizations that provided these ads for the TV.
A complete ban on all cigarette/tobacco advertising on the TV and radio was passed and put into effect in early 1971. Advertisements which had tobacco that was of the smokeless varieties continued to be able to advertise until the year 1986.
Most all cigarette advertising was done by placing ads on billboards or by having ads in magazines, but to be able to do this they had to have a Surgeon General Warning included within each ad. Packaging of cigarette and tobacco products had to have this warning included within them also.
Some of the don’ts of cigarette advertising include: no advertisements on radio or TV programs or in any magazine publications which have an audience that is under the age of 21, no advertisements on Universities, Colleges or any other Schools in their programs for theatrical performances, sport events etc., comic books cannot have any cigarette ads in them due to the age of the reading audience which is usually under the age of 21, zero cigarette samples can be passed out and given to anyone who is not 21 years old.
Cigarette ads cannot represent cigarette smoking as the way to be cooler, better known to the opposite sex or to get higher up on the social ladder, actors or models in cigarettes ad campaigns have to be at the very least 25 years old and ads cannot depict any of them being described as an athlete or of having been in athletic career fields. Manufacturers of cigarettes can place their ads, but will have to pay, in theaters, videos, TV and games for only adult facilities which restriction to all minors is set in force, and ads may be placed in videos as long as they will not get to be distributed out into the general public.

I’ve noticed that Tops has the best rolling papers for non filtered cigarettes, but their tobacoo is inferior.
Black Owl Smooth tobacco is good and cheap. I buy 1lb at a time and make my own smokes with filter tubes and a machine. Drum is my preference in the pouch for hand-rolling and Bugler is probably my least favorite.

i read it on the urban dictionary, and ive heard aout djarum clove cigs. so, do cloved contain nicotene or anything else addictive?
its just a normal cigarette with clove oil in it…..

What is a good Cigarette Tobacco in the pouches (the bags.) ? at a cigar shop?? any suggestions ?? today i bought the wrong dam thing i bought the Parladin tobacco and its not even cig tobacco.. but at least i have a pack of Red Cap cig tobacco lol .
If you can get any of the Peter Stokkebye blends, definitely try those. My favorites are Amsterdam Shag and Stockholm. I really think they are the very best tobaccos that I’ve ever smoked. They can be expensive but they’re worth it for a treat.
Bali is also very good. I prefer the Blue (it’s a halfzware) but the red is good too. However, it’s been hard for me to find Bali lately in my area.
I’ve heard some good things about American Spirit but I haven’t tried it.
For an inexpensive yet very good tobacco, I buy blends from D&R. They are labeled as pipe cuts but they work great as cigarette tobaccos. I usually pay $23 for a 14 oz bag. My favorite D&R blends are Ryback, Ryback Gold, Three Sails and Windsail Platinum. I buy them on-line at Pipes & Cigars but maybe your local shop has them. Fantastic tobaccos at a great price.

I know that back on April 1st, the Cigarette and Tobacco taxes were substantially increased.
Since then I’ve heard around that there is pending legislation that there will be another tax increase during the Fall/Winter months of 2009, but can’t find any evidence of that.
Anybody know?
There no more pending Federal tobacco tax increases at present. Those take an act of Congress and Congress is busy with other issues right now.
State taxes could increase at any time and that is were most high tobacco taxes exist. (The tax on a pack of cigarettes in NYC is nearly $6.00 when all taxes are added in.)

the pipe kind. Are they worse for your health, smoking them like cigarettes? I’ve noticed little difference.
This family member once bought squash instead of cucumbers for someone.
I roll my cigarettes with pipe tobacco because it’s not heavily taxed like cigarette tobacco. To me it tastes exactly the same as cigarette tobacco and I’m pretty sure it’s no better or worse for your health. As long as you’re rolling with filtered tubes you won’t get that cigar taste and it’s considerably cheaper than cigarette tobacco, but to each is his own and just go with whatever type has the taste/flavor you’re looking for in a cigarette.

right now i just use zig zag menthol tobacco, and im not a big fan. whats a good menthol tobacco i can buy? and whats a good rolling paper?
american spirit. they have a menthol and i think hey use real mint or something like that.
