and if drive an older model vehicle can the cigarette lighter destroy the ipod with too much voltage or surges?

please explain

btw, the cigarette lighter recharger says on package that it prevents "Surging"..so how this would do that?..lol

please xplain

btw, which area of the world are you?

thanks for your answers!

the recharger works pretty well on my IPhone when I use GPS.
there’s a resistor? that sets and defines the amount of load and current in the car charger.
as long as you have not modded the charger or the IPod, it should be covered under the warranty.
mod = jailbreaking the IPod, or macguyvering the power adapter voids the warranty

A cigarette lighter in a car is a resistor that, when activated, is connected across the 13 V battery. Suppose a lighter dissipates 31 W of power.

(a) Find the resistance of the lighter

(b) Find the current that the battery delivers to the lighter.

a) use P = E²/R
solve for R

b) use I = E/R

.
