How can I minimize the cigarette smoke smell in my house, my hair, clothes?
My roommate smokes and I do too (i quit using chantix but stress brought me back to smoking!!) I will never use chantix again because of side effects, so I need some advice on how to quit (especially when I’m always around cigarettes at home)

Febreeze just seems to make the smell on my clothes worse so please don’t suggest febreeze :)

My perants smoke and I cant stand the smell. I constantly keep my window open to flush out the smell. Thats said I do smoke the occasional smoke. Try cut down numbers then just go straight for it. Trust me, drugs wont work. You have to do it yourself.

Is this nationwide? Do all cigarette retailers have to charge these prices?

It’s state by state, but the government needs money and that is the easiest tax to raise. Quit smoking.

I quit smoking about a month and a half ago, but last week I had a bit of a relapse and smoked about 8 cigarettes. Almost immediately my smoking cough and sore throat came back, and I was finding it harder to breathe and smell things. I’m worried about how this relapse will hinder the improvements I’ve made physically in the past month. Rather, will my improved fitness ability return to the status that it was before I quit the first time, a month and a half ago?? Will I have to work just as hard as I did the first time to be able to run a significant distance without becoming drastically out of breath??

The relapse should only cause very transient symptoms. It will not take as long to be able to run because of the month and a half you have had of healing time. Just remember how bad your body felt after smoking the next time temptation comes around.

I’ve been smoking cigarettes when drinking for the past year. I will have from one cig to waking up and having no cigs left. I will occasionally smoke a cig when sober to relieve stress or to be social. Whats the best way to limit yourself from any cigarettes when you are drinking? Lately I’ve been trying to not smoke at all when drinking, but have been getting cravings. No haters please. Thank you in advance.

I am trying to quit smoking too and I found out everytime I have a drink I NEED a cigg. So I am giving up drinking till I can give up smoking.

My brand of cigarettes just went up $7.00 a carton and will go up another $6.20 April 1st for the new tax. I am done with cigarettes! Have a doctor’s appointment to get Chantix.

Besides why should I as a smoker pay for someone else’s child health care? I take care of my own already.

If more people quit smoking how will they pay for the enormous cost?

I am going to quit for sure. I think it is absolutely ridiculous. I feel like the government is dictating what people should do because of the very high increase. I am not even quitting because of the price, I am quitting out of pure principle that I do not want the government to touch a penny of mine because of this tax.
I think a lot of smoker’s will finally wise up and plan to quit. There will probably be some people who will not quit but I hope at lease 30 percent decide to quit. I think the government made a big mistake on raising cigarettes this much. Some would say that it will save money in the long run because of health problems but, you could debate that forever. For example, you could say that the government should tax fast food because it could save money in the long run.
The government is going to hurt more business because of this, something which is probably not a good idea now. The government is just going to find something else to tax after they find out this does not work and probably think why they did this to smokers in the first place. So come on anti-smokers, TELL ME HOW WRONG I AM AND GIVE ME A THUMBS DOWN!!!!
