Back East in Tobacco country…do they allow the public to come in and "SEE" how cigarettes, for example are made?

With all the negative public attitude towards them…I doubt it..but was just curious…even as a NON smoker, I think it’d be fascinating to see how it’s all done.

Anyone been? Heard of such tours? If so..where etc? THANKS!

I do not know if they still do, however years ago I went on such a tour in my hometown, and it was fascinating.
When we were finished the tour, they gave us samples of the product.

I certainly understand why cigarette smoking is taboo, even beyond its health hazards. But given that marijuana smoking is much more dangerous than cigarette smoking (smoking one joint is equivalent to smoking five cigarettes, in the last report I read), why is it considered fashionable and cool?

Cigarette smoking was only considered cool before they knew what horrible effects it had. As for pot, it is NOWHERE near as harmful as cigarettes for you. Cigarette related illness causes tens of thousands of deaths a year, while marijuana causes almost none. Anyone who thinks that you can’t live while smoking pot is a narrow minded idiot, unable to admit that marijuana should be legalized, just like those idiots that run this country. There are no cases of marijuana overdoses EVER, while thousands die from alcohol poisoning and drunken driving every year. I maintain a 3.8 GPA and am working towards a Masters in education, so don’t say that it "rots your brain." Marijuana should be legalized, and tobacco should be banned. Every country that has decriminalized marijuana has lower usage rates among its people than the US and the tens of millions of dollars that we spend on the "drug war" could be used to enhancing education and helping the homeless. Our whole country is screwed up and I feel bad for those of you who don’t see that.

From one source, I hear marijuana is not as bad, and another I hear marijuana is worse.

No but is has other harmful effects in the long run, like damamge to your heart, brain function (obvioulsy) and can damage your immune system. On the other hand I heard (randomly so excuse me if I dont have the exact source) that on a scale of one to ten (one being least harmful) marajuana was the least harmful addicting drug out there. Cocaine, and herroine were high up on the list next to the most harmful being ciggarettes and alcohol.

But mainly pot it just makes you lazy and stupid

for someone that knows what a joint looks like they could tell by the way the tip of the joint is and the way the tip of the cigarette is usually the joints ashes fall right away and the cigarettes ashes stay there for a little longer
