   No i don’t think they did it for advertising cigarettes in the 20s they would walk around clubs.. saying cigars, cigarettes, it was because men drank and why they drank they would smoke, and stay longer and the clubs would make more money.. even the women would wear little skimpy outfits selling tobacco products.. im sure alot of the guys would stay longer just to watch them also lol

   Cigarette girls, or hospitality girls. It was more of a convenience than a strategy to get people to smoke, most of whom did in days past. The practice was as common, and unremarkable, then as the vendors who sell hot dogs and other snacks to fans at a ball game today are.
