What fuse do i need to make my car cigarette lighter to work?

cigarette lighter Add comments

I drive a 1999 Mazda Mellinia and the cigarette lighter doesn’t work at all i’m assuming I need a fuse but I’m not sure exactly which one I need.

check your owners manual under fuses alot of times it’s the coil(the part of the lighter you pull out of the dash)that burns out you can get that at pretty much any parts store for a couple bucks

It should be in the owner’s manual, if you have it.

Look on the cover for the fuse panel it will be marked there or in the owners manual

Check your owner’s manual to be sure – it should have the word "lighter" by the fuse. Usually the lighter assembly itself fails. You can go to an auto parts store and purchase one, they are pretty much universal fit.

if you have a 12 volt test light stick it in the lighter socket and see if it lights up, if it does you only need to replace the push in lighter it self, the fuse for it should be in the fusebox probably under accessories, check your owners manual to make sure which one it is.
