Like the ones about if you smoke you might beat your wife is stupid…I smoke and its annoying to hear "you better quit" all the time from someone who has never picked up a cigarette, much less smoked one.
It gets better, it’s your tax money that’s paying for them.
The UK’s most complained about advert in 2007 was an anti-smoker (whoops, sorry that should be anti-smoking) advert that was paid for out of the NHS budget.
To give you some idea of the scale of the government anti-smoker drive in the UK, their costs were £17.34 million in 2003-4, £24 million in 2004-5 and £22.7 million in 2005-6 (I can’t find figures for any later than that, but the quantity seemed to increase).
Compare that with the cost of the children’s hospital that’s just been built near me (£30 million, of which they had to fund-raise half themselves).
I HATE THOSE COMMERICALS. I actually complained to the company that makes those commericals about the one where they were making fun of premature babies. The told me that when they tested that commerical the teenagers who watched it said they would stop smoking because of it and they actually thought it was comical with the dancing babies. I was furious because I’ve been there and experienced a premature baby and it’s devastating and I felt they were making fun of the situation. Also, after being in an abusive relationship, I find that their new commerical has crossed the line as well. There are so many men who abuse their wives and they haven’t smoke a day in their lives. It’s CRAZY!!!!! Also, don’t you think if they had the names of the top tobacco execs they would actually use their names. I think the reason they don’t use specfic names is because their info is BULL!!! If they named a person they are liable to be sued and they can’t afford that. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR I HATE THOSE COMMERICALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

In the USA they stopped all cigarette commercials. Now the only ones are the anti-smoking one.I’m glad my kids didn’t grow up seeing the Marlboro Man looking "cool" on horse back bragging how smoking a Marlboro makes you a man.
