I thought that cigarette tax was supposed to insure 10s of Millions of children under the age of 30 ? Why is uninsured higher than it was before the govt tax? Makes no sense!

obama is still waiting for all the money for his national health care plans. the cigarette tax will pay for almost none of the overall cost. in order for his national health care to pass all citizens’ taxes will go up dramatically just like in every other country that has tried national health care. its a bad idea just look at the nations who have it and want to get rid of it cuz they realize its terrible

It makes no sense at all, unless, of course, you realize that insuring millions of new people takes more than a few months.
Your question is like asking why the economy doesn’t spring back to life the day after a tax decrease. It just doesn’t happen that fast.
